Bunaken Cha Cha Nature Resort

Itʼs another irresistible, picture perfect day in paradise. A breakfast of traditional Indonesian favorites, served family-style, is waiting on the table under the veranda overlooking the resortʼs private beach. On the way down the winding, hillside path through tropical gardens, morning pleasantries are exchanged with staff and guests whom already have become friends. Glancing out towards the house reef where boats are being prepared for the day, diving and snorkeling gear assembled, ready and waiting, you notice… silence.

Soon lapping waves and a beach breeze usher a small group of guests into the surf and onto one of Cha Chaʼs boats for a truly unique, unforgettable experience: Bunaken Marine Park is just at the front door. And a few minutes later youʼre gliding into another world of adventure, freeing your mind and body into nature. With a morning full of memories, itʼs back to the resort for a home-cooked meal and a quick check of e-mail. There are activities for the afternoon, or not. Another dive? Yoga? A massage maybe? And sometimes it feels good to just relax and rejuvenate- a skill easily acquired and executed at Cha Cha Nature Resort. There are a few hours left before joining Raf & Reiko and guests at the dinner table to catch up on the daily gossip, and tomorrowʼs another day. How long will you stay?

Bunaken Cha Cha Nature Resort has been a home away from home for RACI throughout the duration of our project here. Currently at the 1.5 year mark and counting, there’s no way we would stay anywhere but Cha Cha during our stay. In fact, our gracious hosts of the resort, Raf, Reiko, and Denny, were instrumental to RACI’s success from the early stages. Their guidance helped get our ideas out of the dream room and into action through the proper channels on the ground in Bunaken Marine Park. We see no end to this relationship as it has been the most influential (and entertaining) of our experiences working in Southeast Asia. Go ahead and put Bunaken Cha Cha Nature Resort on the top of your list when you’re considering your next trip to Bunaken, and thank us later!
